Terms and conditions

1. The agreement

These terms govern your use of skillshiftai.pro and the SkillShiftAI service — the career chat, your account, and the token store. By creating an account, buying tokens or using the chat, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

Two other documents form part of this agreement: the privacy policy and the refund policy.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or over and able to enter into a binding agreement. If you are using SkillShiftAI on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

3. Your account

The chat requires an account. You agree to give accurate details, keep them current, and keep your password to yourself. Everything done through your account is treated as done by you, so tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it. Accounts are personal — do not share, sell or transfer one.

4. What the service is

SkillShiftAI is a text-based career-transition companion. Within a conversation it will help you:

• Clarify a target role and what that role is really asking for
• Identify transferable skills and the evidence that supports them
• Revise résumé and application content so it reads truthfully and clearly
• Rehearse interview answers and get specific, usable feedback
• Prepare networking and workplace conversations
• Plan skill development and organise first-month priorities in a new role

It works by asking focused questions and responding to the evidence you provide. The quality of what comes back depends on the quality and honesty of what goes in.

5. What it will not do

• It is not professional advice. Nothing in the chat is legal, immigration, financial, tax, medical or psychological advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional.
• It does not guarantee outcomes. No interview, offer, salary or visa outcome is promised or implied. Hiring decisions are made by other people.
• It is not a recruitment agency and does not place candidates, contact employers, or submit applications on your behalf.
• It is not always right. AI-generated text can contain mistakes, out-of-date information, or confident-sounding claims that do not hold up. Check anything you intend to rely on, and read every draft before you send it.

6. Honest use

SkillShiftAI is built to make real experience legible — not to manufacture experience that does not exist. You agree not to use the service to:

• Invent or inflate qualifications, certifications, employment dates, job titles, employers or results
• Produce references, testimonials or endorsements in another person's name
• Create material intended to deceive an employer, a regulator, an educational institution or an immigration authority

The service is designed to decline this kind of request. Persistently attempting it is a breach of these terms and may end your access.

You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you submit in an application, and for checking any draft before it leaves your hands.

7. Tokens and payment

• Chat messages consume tokens. Your available balance is shown in your account.
• Tokens are bought in advance, either as a token pack or through the pay-as-you-go option on the pricing page. Prices shown at checkout are the prices that apply.
• If your balance is not enough for a message, the message will not send and you will be shown how to top up.
• Tokens are a prepaid entitlement to use the service. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred or sold to anyone else.
• Payment is taken by our payment provider. Your order is confirmed once payment clears, and the balance is credited to your account.
• Refunds are covered by the refund policy.
• Prices and pack sizes can change. A change never affects a purchase you have already made.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break the law, or use the service to harm, harass, defame or impersonate anyone
• Upload malicious code, or probe, scrape, overload or interfere with the site or its systems
• Try to reach another user's account or any part of the service you were not given access to
• Use bots or automated tools to consume the service, resell access, or provide it onward as your own product
• Reverse engineer the service, or attempt to extract the underlying prompts or models
• Submit other people's confidential or personal information without a proper basis for doing so

9. Your content and ours

Yours stays yours. You keep ownership of the résumé text, answers and other material you put into the chat. You grant us the limited permission needed to process it so the service can work — sending it to the model that generates the reply, and storing your history against your account.

The drafts are yours to use. Text the chat produces for you is yours to edit and use in your applications, subject to these terms — particularly the honest-use section. Similar suggestions may be generated for other people, so nothing produced in a chat is exclusive to you.

Ours stays ours. The site, its design, copy, branding, logo and underlying software belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, republish or build a competing product from them without written permission.

10. Availability

We aim to keep the service running and to keep improving it, but we cannot promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. Maintenance, third-party outages and technical faults happen. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn.

11. Liability

The service is provided on an “as is” basis. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunities, or the outcome of any application, interview or career decision you make.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for tokens in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing here affects consumer rights you have under the law where you live.

12. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to close your account through the contact page.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used fraudulently, or where we are required to by law. Where a closure is our decision and you have not breached these terms, we will deal fairly with any unused balance under the refund policy. Unused tokens are not refunded where an account is closed for a serious breach.

13. Complaints

If something goes wrong, raise it through the contact page with “Complaint” in your message, and include your order reference and what you would like done. We will acknowledge it, look into it properly, and come back to you with an outcome and the reasons for it.

14. Changes to these terms

These terms will be updated as the service changes. The current version is always on this page with the date it was last updated. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, stop using the service and ask us to close your account.

15. General

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Not enforcing a right straight away does not mean giving it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else; we may transfer ours if the service changes hands, and your rights are not reduced by that.

These terms, together with the privacy policy, refund policy and cookies policy, are the whole agreement between us about the service.
